Comment of the day by St. Amadeu de Lausanne, Cistercian monk, Bishop 4th Marian homily
"Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart."
When for the first time, took in his arms Boy, Emmanuel, Mary discerned in him a far more beautiful light than the sun, felt a fire that no water could have deleted. He received hidden in that little body that had just been born it, the dazzling light that illuminates everything and deserved to be in the arms of God the Word, which sustains all that exists (Heb 1.3). As there would be left filled with the knowledge of God, which wave overflowing sea (Isaiah 11.9)? Since there would be raptured, outside itself, at high altitudes, in admirable contemplation? As there would be no wonder to see the mother, she is a virgin, and full of joy, Mother of God? Maria understood that it was to fulfill the promises made to the patriarchs, the prophets and oracles of the wishes of their ancestors, who were waiting with all my heart.
She sees the Son of God delivered to it; rejoice for having been entrusted with the salvation of the world. And hears the Lord God tell you in my heart: 'I chose you from everything created; you blessed among women (Lk 1:42); I gave my son in your hands; I trusted you my only begotten. Do not be afraid to breastfeed one who generated, not to raise the floor one who gave birth. He learns that he is not only your God but also your son. It's my son, and thy son is my son by divinity, your son for humanity in you took. "With that affection and that zeal, that humility and that respect with that love and that devotion will not have Mary answered to this call! Men may not know it, but God knows, He who searches the minds and hearts (Ps 7.10). [...] Blessed is she who has been given to create one who protects and feeds all, have the hands one who sustains the whole universe.
