In those days, 4All the elders of Israel gathered were looking for Samuel at Ramah 5 and said to him: "Look, you are old and your sons do not follow your ways. So down on us a king, to exercise justice among us, as is done in all nations. " 6Samuel not like when they told him, "Give us a king to judge us." And he called upon the Lord. 7The Lord said to Samuel, "Listen to everything the people say to you. Why are not they they reject, but me, that I should not reign more about them. " 10Samuel transmitted all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king, 11e said: "These are the king's rights who will reign over you: He will take your sons , and the charge of his chariots and their horses and make them run the front of your car. 12Fará them captains of thousands and fifty men and employ in their fields and their crops in the manufacture of their weapons and their cars. 13Fará of your daughters perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14Tirará your best fields, vineyards and olive groves and give them to his servants. 15Das your crops and your vineyards he will charge the tithe and allocate to his officers and to his servants. 16Tomará also your male and female slaves, your best cattle and donkeys, and make them work for it. 17Exigirá a tenth of your flocks , and you shall be his slaves. 18Naquele day cry out to the Lord for the king which ye shall have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you. " 19Porém the people refused to listen to the reasons of Samuel and said: "No matter! We want a king, 20pois want to be like all other nations. Our king administer justice, march before us and fight for us in all wars. " 21Samuel heard all the words of the people and repeated them in the ears of the Lord. 22But the Lord said to him: "Do to them the will and give them a king."

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark:
1Alguns days later, he entered again into Capernaum. Soon the news spread that he was at home. 2E met so many people there, that there was no longer room even outside the door. And Jesus preached the word to them. 3Trouxeram him, then a paralytic carried by four men. 4But managing not get to Jesus because of the crowd, so they opened the roof, just above the place where he was. For this opening down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. 5When saw their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." 6Ora, some teachers of the law who were sitting there, reflected in their hearts: 7 "How can this man talk like that? He is blaspheming: no one can forgive sins except God. " 8Jesus soon realized what they were thinking in their hearts and said, "Why do you think so in your hearts? 9The it easier to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Arise, take up your bed and walk'? 10For well, that ye may know that the Son of Man has on earth to forgive sins - he said to the paralytic - 11eu command thee: Arise, take up your bed and go home "12The paralyzed man then got up! and carrying his bed, he went out before all. And they were all amazed and praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this."

Comment of the day by St. John Chrysostom Presbyter of Antioch, Bishop of Constantinople, Doctor of the Church loose homilies About paralytic
"Seeing the faith of these people"
This paralytic had faith in Jesus Christ. Proof of this is the way it was presented to Christ, and let him down through the roof of the house. [...] You know that patients are in such a big rebate and bad humor that often the good care provided to them to grieve. [...] But this paralytic is pleased to be taken out of your room and be seen publicly, through to their misery the squares and streets. [...]
This paralytic does not suffer from self-esteem. The crowd around the house where the Salvador, all passages are closed, the input fraught. It does not matter! Will be introduced through the ceiling and is happy: how skilled is love, how ingenious charity! "He who seeks finds; and to him who knocks shall open "(Mt 7,8) This patient did not ask to friends that transport:" What are they doing? Why so much trouble? Why such ardor? Expect that the house is empty and departing all. Then we can introduce us to Jesus, when He is almost alone ... "No, the paralytic does not think anything of it; It is a glory for him to be a large number of witnesses of his cure.
